Choose between 3 lakes: Eagle Mountain Lake, Grapevine Lake, or Ray Roberts Lake.
Eagle Mountain Lake is located just northwest of Fort Worth by the town of Azle. It has many beautiful houses, docks, and scenery. The sandbass fishing is excellent along with channel cat and blue cats. The fish relate to a main island in the middle of the lake, ridges, humps, points, docks, old road beds, and more. Eagle Mountain is a great lake to catch fish for a family dinner.
Grapevine Lake is located in the heart of the DFW Metroplex between Fort Worth and Dallas at the town of Grapevine. It is a great sandbass fishery for family and friends. The lake has rock ledges, sandy shores, an old rock crusher, aerator pumps, humps, and creeks for fish to relate to. The location of Grapevine Lake makes it a great option for a fishing or camping trip. It has many parks, hiking, and bike trails around the lake.
Ray Roberts Lake is located near Denton north of Dallas. Sandbass fishing is the best in the area at Ray Roberts. The lake has beautiful scenery and one of the best State Parks in the area at Isle De Bois for camping, hiking, fishing and much more. The lake does not get as much boat traffic because it is about 30 to 45 minutes from Dallas. Ray Roberts acres of flooded timber and many humps, creeks, brushpiles, old house foundations, roads, pond dams, and other structure for fish to relate to.
